Attraction Information
Battambang Airport was on business in 1968 on a 127-hectare land area. The first flight was from Phnom Penh to Battambang. However, the airport was shut down entirely from 1975-1979 due to the war in the country. After the fall of the Khmer Rouge regime, the airport reopened but was only used by the military. Then, in 1991, the airport was closed again.
Any on-road vehiclesÂ
It was free but now you need to pay to enter with around 25 cents per motorbike and a bit more for cars.
Currently, this place is being used for doing exercises like running, bicycling, skiing, and walking and some people prefer relaxing by sitting on mats or grass and eating food with their friends and family. Sometimes this attraction is used for Pre-wedding photoshoots and Football fields.
According to this article, this place is planned to upgrade and expand in the future and is being used as an actual airport again.
